AT THE DAWN OF THE 60’S, a handful of winegrowers decided to unite around a common idea: to publicize, sell and promote Roussillon wines. These visionary, pioneering winegrowers joined forces and founded a société d’intérêt collectif agricole. In a spirit of solidarity, winegrowers from private wineries joined forces with the cooperative wineries of the Pyrénées-Orientales department to create Vignerons Catalans.
THE VINEYARD
The terroirs of the Pyrénées-Orientales are centered around three mountain ranges: the Corbières to the north, Mont Canigou to the west and the Albères to the south. Three rivers irrigate these territories: the Agly, the Têt and the Tech.
Roussillon is certainly one of the places in the world with the oldest vines.
Our vineyards produce still wines (AOP and IGP) and Vins Doux Naturels (AOP) from some twenty different grape varieties.
